The European Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association Congress (ECPCA 2019), which will be held in TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht, the Netherlands from 12 – 15 June 2019 is pleased to share our recently updated scientific programme featuring an impressive speakers list from all over the world. For details on the programme please visit our website.

On Wednesday 12 June, 8.30 - 12.30 there is a special session about 22q11.2ds.

The 22q11.2ds affects multiple organs systems in variable ways. VPI, speech and language problems are common and well known. As a consequence, these children are often seen by cleft teams. When treating these children in a cleft team, it is of paramount importance to have knowledge about the other anomalies, symptoms and complaints related to 22q11 these children or their parents may express.

This symposium aims at giving a concise overview of nearly all aspects of 22q11.2ds for physicians and other disciplines involved in the care of these children.

The symposium is divided into two sessions, one for younger children (cleft clinic age) and a parallel session for adolescents. Some topics affect the whole youth and life of patients with 22q11.2. Therefore, a broad spectrum of topics beyond the regular cleft care will be addressed in this symposium, including cardiology, scoliosis, psychiatry and transition into adulthood.

If you want to join this special session do not forget to register for the congress via our website. We hope to see you all there.

Sincerely yours,
